“Breath is the most universal tool we all have. For me, the beauty of it is that it's free.” – George Ramsay

The resistance really rises, and it's like a workout. You're in there and you don't want to be doing it. Your mind throws all these thoughts out, like “breathe a little less”, or “don't fall follow that sensation”, or “pull back a bit” which is just the ego, trying to keep us in what it knows, the safe mode. When we know there's stuck emotion in our bodies, the mind wants to run as far away as possible.

Right now I'm trying to reflect on, what has my journey as a gay man, who is constantly healing been? And what are the practices that have really allowed me to show up and face what needs attention.

Why are we doing all this healing work for what? So that we can be more in our liveliness, so that we can experience more joy, so that we can have deep connective fun relationships.

I love efficiency. I'm a Virgo and I love a good clear system. Breathwork allowed me to gain perspective that I truly had been like fumbling around.

Good things were coming during breathwork and then I started following the intuitive hits I would get when I was breathing, and life just started transforming in a fun way.

I'm moving more breath into my body, and when I do that, I can open up to the world and I feel like it's turning up the brightness on life. After you come out of a session, you just experience more ease and play, and I'm way more creative after too.

The reason I'm attracted this practice is because it's very much a practice that you can do on your own without paying someone, and once you know it, you get to transform your life. - George Ramsay

There's no guru culture around it, there's no secrecy around it. It's unlocking the breath in your body, which I think is the most personal way to find your own freedom. - George Ramsay

“I do this practice almost every day, and almost every day, there's still resistance.” – George Ramsay

“That level of being seen in my community was terrifying.” – George Ramsay

“It's such a beautiful tool to be together, to grieve together, to move through together, and to really get to hold each other through an individual and collective experience. ” – George Ramsay

“Healing doesn't have to be like such a slog. Sometimes it's painful, and it's uncomfortable, but it doesn't have to be just like self-flagellation all the time.” – Michelle Pellizzon
