Show Notes

  • [0:01:01] Northern white rhinos are extinct. The last remaining male, the northern white rhino died. Now, there are only two lefts in the world --- his daughter and his granddaughter.

  • [0:02:12] There are a couple of ideas to save these species. One is to co breed the two remaining northern white rhinos with Southern white rhinos, but that would change the species because their genetic pool would be different. It would be a hybrid.

  • [0:02:54] Another option is to clone, but the scientists are hesitant, though they already took sperm from this male white rhino before he died.

  • [0:03:53] Dolly the sheep was cloned in 1996 at The Roslin Institute by a team led by Professor Sir Ian Wilmut. She was euthanized in 2003.

  • [0:06:36] Human nature, despite all our advances, despite how intelligent we are, we’re still human.

  • [0:06:54] “If we are going to continue to advance in intelligence and technology, we should be responsible to raise our consciousness level so that we don't have things like moral hazard where we're just blowing things up indiscriminately, thinking we can always go back and fix it later.” – Michelle Pellizzon

  • [0:21:08] “Unless it is a customer or someone to who I owe an explanation or I owe a response to, I don't feel that I owe anyone anything. And I'm not required to get back to them immediately, I can get back to them when I'm healthy and when it's safe for me to do so.” – Michelle Pellizzon

  • [0:26:19] “You don't need to reinvent the wheel because you can't, because there is no new information out there. Trust me, there isn't!” – Michelle Pellizzon

  • [0:44:06] If you're constantly just trying to keep your head above water, you're stealing from yourself and you're stealing from the world. You're not giving yourself the opportunity to go deeper.

  • [0:44:28] We don't need more of the superficial stuff.

  • [0:44:55] If you love this idea of building and melding strategy and structure with the intuitive and the magic and the creative, you'll love the north node!
